Jaguar XKR
The Jaguar XK8 upon which the Jaguar XKR is based once again made the company a serious player in the high performance grand tourer market. Beautiful and elegant in the tradition of Jaguar, the car was a clear but not slavish homage to the Jaguar E Type.
The Jaguar XK8 was launched in 1996 and is fundamentally the same car as the contemporary Aston Martin DB7. Both cars were based on Jaguar XJ-S running gear, itself derived from the benchmark Jaguar XJ6 saloon. This means that the car rides superbly and has excellent handling - characteristics that are often overlooked about the Jaguar XJS.
The Great Escape Classic Car Hire Jaguar XK is a 1999 high performance Jaguar XKR coupe finished in metallic blue with cream leather interior. The car is fitted with the Jaguar AJ26 4 litre V8 supercharged engine, which gives supercar performance to rival Ferraris and Porsches and is the first V8 Jaguar ever made. Our car is a December 1999 model fitted with a discreet factory body kit that enhances its sleek profile.
The Jaguar XKR is perfect for touring across the countryside in supreme comfort and luxury or enjoying the lanes and backroads of the Cotswolds. It can also be hired for weddings as a self drive groom car.
